Chocolate Chip Wafes
Chocolate Wafes make great ice cream sandwiches! Place slices of your favorite ice cream between
Chocolate Wafes. Cut into 4 serving pieces.
• 1-3/4 cups all-purpose our
• 2 tsp. baking powder
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 3 eggs, separated
• 2 Tbsp. sugar
• 1-1/2 cups milk
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1. Condition and preheat Rotating Wafe Maker.
2. Sift our, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl.
3. Use an electric mixer to beat the whites until soft peaks form. Sprinkle in the sugar and continue
to beat until stiff.
4. Use the mixer to blend egg yolks, milk and vegetable oil together.
5. Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients and whisk together until just mixed.
6. Gently fold egg white mixture and chocolate chips into the batter.
7. Pour approximately 3/4 to 1 cup of batter onto the lower cooking plate. Close the lid, turn the
temperature control dial to medium (4) setting, and bake.
8. When a wafe is done, the top cooking plate should lift easily. Lift the plate gently; if it pulls,
continue cooking for 1 minute and test again.
9. If necessary, adjust cooking dial for future wafe baking and repeat with remaining batter.
VARIATION: Chocolate/Chocolate Chip Wafes. Replace 3/4 cup our with 3/4 cup unsweetened
cocoa powder.
